So, GaoGaiGirl and I are going on vacation from tomorrow to the 18th (our first vacation since Alteil started), coincidentally during Obon, the traditional summer Japanese holiday week. This is the time of year when Japanese city-folk return to their home towns to visit their family graveyards and pay their respects to their ancestors. And speaking of obscure holidays, I need a 5 of 7 idea...
One or two of you may already know this, but there’s some
errata happening tomorrow.Let me start
by saying we modified 42 cards (assuming I can still count), which considering
that a Set has 60 cards and about a quarter of them are no-brainers that don’t
need much testing, this was as least as much work as a new Set.
So I went to bed at 2:30 am last night as I had a lto of work to do. Then I woke up ar 4:00, 4:10 and 4:20 before showering and packing and heading the the airport. I'm not a good plane sleeper. I'm to old for this. I took a lunch nap today at work. Hurray for having an office where I can get away with that kind of stuff. I tend to have the weirdest dreams. For example I'm pretty sure I was in the midst of trying to make a bomb for some daring rescue out of plastic explosives when my phone rang and finally woke me. Most of my dreams are like bad (or awesome?) action movies. I think that means I'm not terribly deep.
As always anyone who has fought in the arena and drooled on themselves in the middle of the day receives at least 10 gran. Listed below are your top 5 Iczers, top 3 Guilds, Guild who leveled up and Guilds that have become official. With special bonus tournament results!
There's no doubt that it's possible to make strong Alteil files that don't rely on having three copies of every play card. Or of any of them, for that matter. In some of these cases, the goal is to flood your field with cards, perhaps not even worrying much about revival. In others, the cards themselves are so powerful that having three copies would simply be redundant. Sometimes...well, sometimes, it's all about being sneaky.
and so concludes the 3rd and final round of this tournament. Prelim results will be up later tonight and final results will be posted and prizes given out tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who participated.
Quick FYI: I inadvertently started the tournament an hour early today. Bit of a scheduling kerfuffle due to non existent time zone changes. As such it will keep running to the originally scheduled time of 5pm Eastern Standard Time.
Also my apologies on not getting last nights standings live. Has been a more hectic convention than anticipated. Tonights preliminary results should be up by like 9pm EST. Final official results we be done tomorrow.
