You guys were great with donations last month, and I'm putting
together our expenses now so I can make a report by the weekend. But,
with us giving away a free 60 card set (until friday). and gearing up for new
starters, which will make more free cards available to everyone, what can we
offer in the shop? The answer is seasonal, or alternate-art cards!
A lot of users have been returning lately,
users who haven't been around in a while -- in many cases, years. That
means a lot of seasonal cards have accumulated that they've never had a
chance to get. I'm thinking I'll put up two options, a lotto for new players or players with few to none seasonal cards who just want a few
unique cards for cheap, and a pack with guaranteed three star seasonal cards as
well. After all, if you already have a lot of seasonals, just playing the lotto is
likely to be a one way ticket to 30 minutes of recycling Halloween devouring lizard... |

OK, everyone should have weekly gran for last week AND the week before. So, what kind of impact did this have? We're iczers really getting that much more gran? Well, for high level users who play a lot, they've got about 30% more gran on average. As for iczers who don't quite make the top 100, the % extra received was much higher on average, although since we're talking about a smaller number of battles, the volume of gran was lowers.
REMEMBER this event is going on for one more week, so once again for this week -- no gran penalty for losing!

We were recently informed of a bug... with the bug recording system. Please disregard the urgency level assigned to the bugs on the redmine server. We had originally intended on having them match the bug severity levels on the reward system, but were unable to do so because they must be chosen when the bug is entered, which is before it can be confirmed or double checked. We will come up with a better way of doing this. |

When I went to give Gran with the weekly gran gizmo, newly modified to no longer provide a -1 penalty for losing, I noticed a bug that would prevent it from doing the 'minimum 10 Gran' part correctly. We'll get that fixed as soon as we can and give weekly gran. We appologize for the inconvenience.

Thanksgiving
is only a month away, so it's time for the ANNUAL ALTEIL HAND TURKEY CONTEST.
Because a week of scavenging food and gas, running around and
sleeping in the cold has left me but a pale shell of a man, I will paraphrase
with text mercilessly stolen from last year's contest:
in the US, we celebrate Thanksgiving, and when
we're in grammer school or preschool or something, the teachers give us
activities related to holidays to keep us busy. So they tell us to take a
big sheet of construction paper, slap down our hands, and trace them.
Then, using that tracing as a base, we draw and decorate a turkey.
Ingenious! Now, I'm sure a youth of hand turkeys will give American Iczers a
staggering edge in this contest, but maybe not. It's a chance we'll all
have to take.
The contest is simple. Take your hand,
place it on a flat surface, and trace. You'll need to convert these to digital
format if you traced them on paper though, no mail in submissions. A scanner
perhaps. We like taking a clean hand and pressing it up against our monitor and
using the mouse to outline it. Gives a 'kid drew it with crayon' feel. You can
dress your Turkeys up any which way you like, that's
where the creativity comes in.
Submit all hand turkeys NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 23RD. No
profanity or adult images, copyrighted material, or official Alteil art is
permitted. Drawing your own version of anything copyrighted IS COVERED under
right of parody and is acceptable. YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR ICZER NAME IN
YOUR FILE NAME!!!!!!!!!
Send your turkey to:

OK, so Logress has been without power all week (still no power, stealing internet from inlaws as we speak) but he certainly wouldn't be so LAME as to just extened last week's events, would he!? Yes, yes he would. In honor of the fact I have been living in a cave for the past week, subsisting off of nuts and berries and not working on events, we are extending last week's big events, FREE SET 11 (which itself is an extention of a Gamepot event, making it extra lame) and NO GRAN PENALTY FOR LOSING. You also may have noticed we didn't do ranking Gran monday, so we'll be doing a double week next monday. But, I can promise MANY new events announced next friday, and some announced before then. Just as long as there aren't any more hurricanes...

Well, that storm was the biggest in my lifetime around here,
hands down. No serious damage to our property as far as I can tell but no
power, no internet and the neighborhood is a wreck. We had to take the baby to
the in-laws because they have a small generator and it's getting a little cold
at night for him. Driving out of our area was pretty crazy, power lines and utility
poles were just lying around on roads and yards (and on cars and houses). There
was a 4-foot diameter tree floating about 9 feet above the road suspended on
power lines. Driving under that was exciting.
Still alive, though. No word on gettnig power
back, not even an estimate. Probably not surprising, because resources are being sent to
areas where people are in immediate physical danger, of which there are plenty.

Everyone who is, like us, in the North East of the US, STAY SAFE! Check out your local municipality website or phone service for info on emergency warnings and possible evacuation orders. And, make sure your laptops have fully charged batteries so you can play Alteil after the power goes out. Seriously, everyone be safe and if I lose power, I'll see everyone again later in the week. You don't have to worry about the game, though. The main servers are nowhere near the storm area. And remember, if you go outside, you're liable to have all your level one and two units returned to your File -- sorry, couldn't resist. |
