EPS Still down

We're still having trouble with the EPS option on the shop. It's at their end, and it's effecting every EPS customer, so they're working on it.  Until then you can put your credit card in through PayPal if you like.

I'll be extending the Seasonal sale a few days because of this, so everyone can get a crack at it.

April 1st Lottery is Up, with only MINOR horrible bugs!

You've got to be kidding me...

Okay, the lottery is up and appears to be working despite a few false starts... however thanks to the Curse of Ages that has been placed on Alteil by ancient gods, there is a problem.  For some reason, during last night's reset, the GM Costume card data didn't transfer over correctly from the test server. The cards still work fine and you can build a deck with them and play with them as normal. You can also view their stats as normal during a duel. However, in the shop and in the Card File, all of their stats are undefined, including their names... magical. We won't be able to fix this until maintenance tonight, so you'll have to know what cards you got by recognizing what we, the GM's are dressed up as. Here's a hint, the guy with the beard is supposed to be Forest Sorceress / Antilla.

Oh, and did I mention that EPS isn't working right now? We're working on it, but until then you can put your credit cards through PayPal.  Who said it was okay for my life to be like that mole guy's from the Simpsons?

Game Music Licensing Issues

In a strange twist of fate, we lost the rights to the Alteil Game Music and Sound Effects last night.

But never fear, the GM's stayed up all night re-recording all of the Music and Effects tracks! Unfortunately, dwildstar and Lupos didn't have any music instruments or music playing software, so they had to improvise. They did such a good job however, I imagine most of you won't even notice!

April 1st-2nd WEIRD Seasonal Art Sale!
Written by Logress
Wednesday, 31 March 2010 22:26

Last year, almost exactly one year ago... it was on the first day of April, we lost the rights to all of the Alteil Art for exactly one day! It was a harrowing time, but myself and the other GM's (mostly the other GM's) stayed up all night and redrew every single card so the game could go on.

To commemorate this, we're having a seasonal art sale of these hand crafted masterpieces, THURSDAY April 1 and FRIDAY April 2... eight which have been offered before in a seasonal lottery shortly after the original event, and 8 which have never been offered before.

Just to sweeten the deal, and since we're on the topic of weird alternate cards, remember last Halloween when the GM's dressed up as different cards and took pictures? Well, I don't blame you, I'm trying to forget it too.  Anyway, we picked 8 of those cards to add to the mix too. As an added bonus, none of them will involve me in a shell bra.

Falkow-Lawtia Community Tournament
Written by Logress
Tuesday, 30 March 2010 04:31

As has become very nearly almost (kinda) a tradition around here on Saturdays, there will be a COMMUNITY TOURNAMENT on this Saturday the 3rd at 1 PM EST.

This time Peralisc2 is moving forward with the proceedings, and his plan is for something a little different, a Falkow-Lawtia tournament.  He's got very specific rules, so be sure to read them on the official thread here.

Even if you don't have the cards for this Sphere-specific cross color showdown, you can be sure that the decks running around will be very unique.  No one has more clever tricks then Falkow, and no one has more dirty tricks then Lawtia... or is it the other way around? Seeing how these unique decks can be put together and run is a real treat and a learning experience, so I recommend everyone stop by the Training Arena on Saturday to watch some of the matches!

As always there will be modest PRIZES...

1st: 50 Gran, 10 Point cards
2nd: 10 Point Cards
Finalists: 2 Point Cards
In addition, EVERYONE will receive 1 Point Card provided they play at least 1 game as a participation prize.

Fun with Seaman

So just a short post here as it's the end of the day and I must run, but I wanted to post this. As you may have read in the rankings post I was at PAXEAST this past weekend. The interesting thing is that a few weeks ago (when Edgar was still here) I was talking to him and Anna about it and she asked if I would be cosplaying. The answer of course, should have been no. But I, like the wise arse that I am, made some joke about what crazy odl obscure video game would be worthy of me dressing up. Edgar, in a moment of surprising clarity said "Seaman!". We all had a good laugh and I said "If some one makes me a Seaman custom/hat I would totally wear it. luckily(?) for me I was talking to the ever amazing AnnaTheRed, craft master extraordinaire. She, without missing a bit said "I''ll do it", and my fate was sealed. Much as I would liek to sit here pretending to be to cool for school, I am not. I love this hat. It is possibly the single greatest hat ever put to head. Having it on did slow down our travels through the hallways a bit but thankfully it was obscure enough that I was usually only stopped 2-3 times every time I wondered around.

So, without further adieu, I present to you, me...

Arakis's Quest - the 2* Quest 3/29/10-4/12/10

It's time to get back to basics.  Many of you probably remember that the first Arakis' Quest was the one where you could only use 1* rarity cards.  This one's going to be similar, the only difference being you must use only 2* cards.

Listen I'll tell you the Alteil Rank is incredible, even recommended to give you gran like instead of a Credit Card you just play a game to get some in game cash. Point with your mouse at the arena button to earn some.

So I spent the weekend at PAXEAST. Sorry if any of you where there, I didn't have the fore thought to post in the forum about it as I was mighty busy last week, as I have been since Edgar's departure, and I had even more to do before a long weekend. Would have been nice to see some of you if anyone was in attendance but I was not there in any official capacity. In fact this is the first time in my 30 year long nerd life that I have been to a "con" just as an attendee. I've worked more anime cons that I can remember, and been to tons of video game events over the years, including the Last 2 PAX's, but it's a very different experience just being there for the fun of it. Long story short I had a great time. Some very entertaining panels. Expo hall was a bit disappointing but perhaps having been to PAX prime twice and E3 4 times I may be biased. One of the highlights for me at PAX is always the Frontalot concert. Sadly this one was delayed by over an hour so instead of being over at 12:30 it didn't start till 1am. As such it was cut a bit short, a crime IMHO, especially considering they could have cropped some of the other bands a bit more. Front was the head liner goshdarnit! Where was I? Oh, yes, rankings!

As always anyone who has fought in the arena and busted some mad nerd rhymes receives at least 10 gran. Listed below are your top 5 Iczers, top 3 Guilds, and guilds that have become official.

  2. White3
