All is not well in the world of Lavato. The constant clashing of magical energies across its surface have given birth to a cataclysmic magical surge, a blinding pulse of energy that feeds back on itself and grows until it warps the fabric of magic on Lavato itself!

Even the energies of the four Spheres of Influence have been distorted, disturbing the sleeping gods that govern them! First Refess, then Lawtia, then Gowen and finally Falkow stir in their sleep, each one reacting in turn and generating four new incarnations, the Proxies!
